What is a droid cell phone? Is there a cell phone that can be used with any of the major service providers such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon? We have AT &T but would like to switch providers soon and want to use the same phone. Any suggestions on where to buy a generic
phone?

I would suggest you get a Motorola Droid X and in order for that to work with several carriers it has to be unlocked. I happen to have an Android phone, a SE XPeria X10 that I bought from timtechs and it is factory unlocked so I get to switch GSM SIM cards anytime which is great.
