A phone that uses credit-card-sized SIM cards

Hi, guys, I wanna ask you how can I use a phone that uses old-fashioned credit-card-sized SIM cards with a modern SIM card? I have a modern SIM card like this one:

I have removed it from the card holder, but I still keep the holder. How can I attach the card back to the holder, and if I insert the holder with the card in the phone, will it work? Had anyone of you done such thing before?
The phone si Motorola Startac 70.
And one more question: what are the differences between Startac 70 and 130? Thanks.
