Hi. I'm Rachel. I have yet to delve into the world of smartphones until now, and joined in hopes of having some light shed on the topic. If you have any suggestions feel free to share them with me. I am looking to purchase a new phone within the next month, so keep in mind release dates, please. (:

I'm searching for something that will, first off, have a decent memory capacity so that I can use it as an mp3 player alternatively. It would need to have a headphone jack so that I would be able to link it to my car through an auxiliary cable. I would really love to be able to store around 300-400 songs on my phone at any given time, without having to worry too much about the data and memory that I would need to keep around for new contacts (I usually only keep around 100). I would also like for it to have dependable GPS capabilities.

Internet speed is not really too much of an issue for me, but would be a plus. A camera is not essential, but might be fun to have and high megapixel would be a definite perk.

All in all, I am looking for something fully functional running on the android platform (newer versions preferable) and available for an AT&T family plan.

So, what's the best I can get on a budget of $160?

I see that you posted this a while ago - did you end up getting a new phone that was in line with your budget?
