Clearing App Cache:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Select "Apps"
  4. Swipe left and access the "All" tab
  5. Scroll up / down and select the desired application
  6. After selecting the app, tap the "Clear cache" button (note that not all applications have the "clear cache" option)

Performing a Factory Reset:

WARNING! Performing a factory reset on the Sprint Vital will end up in loss of all data that is stored on the device. If possible or needed, create a backup of the desired data before continuing on with the steps below.

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Menu" button on your device
  2. Select "System settings"
  3. Tap "Backup & reset"
  4. Press "Factory data reset"
  5. Read the on-screen information and press "Reset phone"
  6. Confirm by tapping the "Erase everything" button

Checking The Software Version and Checking for New Software Updates:

  1. While on the home screen, tap the "Menu" button on your device
  2. Select "System settings"
  3. Tap "About phone" to check your current software version, or:
  4. Tap "System updates" then press the "Check now" button. If a new software update is available, you will be given the option to download it.

Running a Diagnostic Test and Updating Profile:

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Find and select "Sprint Zone"
  3. Scroll down and tap "Help". If prompted, read the "Privacy Statement" and select "OK"
  4. Tap "Dashboard". This will automatically perform basic diagnostics on your device. After the diagnostic is complete, features will be shown alongside one of the following icon colors:

    • Green: Everything works as intended
    • Yellow: There may be an issue or a software update that has not been applied (depending on the case)
    • Red: An issue has been detected

    Note: Assuming that the "Voice" and / or "Data" tests are unsuccessful, updating the data profile might resolve these issues:
  5. Tap the "Back" button on your device
  6. In the "Help" menu, scroll down and select "Update Profile"
  7. Press "OK". Once the profile update is done, tap "Dashboard" again to see of "Voice" and "Data" tests are now successful
