Clearing an Application's Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your third party applications doesn't work as intended then you might be able to fix the app's behavior by clearing its cache or data.

WARNING! Clearing an app's data will result in the deletion of all personal data stored within the app, including saved games, profiles, credit card information, login credentials, settings and so on. NOTE: To prevent losing data, try solving the issues by clearing only the cache.

  1. Tap "Apps" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Tap "Apps" and swipe to "All"
  4. Select the desired application and tap "Clear cache"
  5. If the app still doesn't work in normal parameters, tap "Clear data" > "OK"

Wipe the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: If your phone doesn't work as intended and you're considering master resetting it, try clearing the cache partition first. By doing so you could be able to fix the problems without having to lose any personal data. To clear the phone's cache partition:

  1. Turn off the phone
  2. Press and hold "Volume Up" and "Power" simultaneously
  3. Once you see the "Alcatel" logo, release the "Power" button
  4. At the "Android system recovery" screen, release the "Volume Up" button too
  5. From the recovery menu press "Volume down" to navigate to and highlight "wipe cache partition"
  6. Press "Power" to select the highlighted option
  7. Once the cache partition is wiped you will see a "Reboot system now" message
  8. Make sure "Reboot system now" is highlighted and press "Power"

NOTE: If the Alcatel OneTouch Pop Astro still doesn't work as it should after wiping the cache partition then you may want to try factory resetting it. Head down to this thread (click the link) for a full guide on how to do it.
