Enable Battery Saving Mode for Location:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Tap “Settings
  3. Go to “Personal” and tap “Location
  4. Tap “Mode” > “Battery saving

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: You can improve battery life in the long run by disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use. This includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, and GPS.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings
  3. Tap the “Bluetooth” and “Wi-Fi” options and turn the switches “OFF
  4. From the “Settings” menu, scroll to “Wireless & Networks” and tap “More
  5. Tap “Mobile Hotspot” and turn the switch “OFF
  6. Go back to “Settings” and tap “Location” under “Personal
  7. Tap the switch to turn GPS “OFF

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout:

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Tap “Display” > “Brightness level
  3. If necessary, disable “Automatic brightness” first, then drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the scree
  4. Tap “OK
  5. In the “Display” menu, tap “Sleep
  6. Select a lower timeout value, like “15 seconds

Disable Background Data:

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Tap “Data usage
  3. Tap “Menu
  4. Enable “Restrict app background data

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your phone / accounts to sync less data / less often you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Under “Personal” tap “Accounts
  3. Select the desired account
  4. Clear the sync settings you want / can disable
  5. When ready, tap “Menu” > “sync now

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can perform regular processes in the background, thus requiring energy and affecting your battery life. As such, you might improve battery autonomy by disabling / removing unused third party applications.

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Under “Device”, tap ‘Apps
  3. Swipe to “Downloaded
  4. Tap the desired application
  5. Tap “Disable”, or to completely remove the app tap “Uninstall” > “OK

Use 2G instead of 4G:

  1. From the “Settings” menu, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
  2. Tap “Cellular networks
  3. Tap “Preferred network type” and select “2G only
