I'm looking for an Android phone for Virgin Mobile for about US$100. From looking on ebay and other places I see I can get an HTC Desire 626s new or a used Samsung Galaxy SIII for about that. Getting an older used phone gives me more memory and often better camera but with an older Android version--5.1 for the HTC and 4.3 for the Samsung. Is getting an older version of Android really a problem? Do a lot of apps target the more recent versions? Any recommendations on these or other phones?
Right now I'm using a Samsung M910. I want to upgrade because it runs out of memory quickly and many apps won't work with that version of Android. Not really into using it for games or music. A better camera would be nice.
Thanks.

Re: Virgin phone for circa $100?
OK, found an answer. I discovered that the Samsung Android version could be upgraded. I bought the Samsung and upgraded it to version 4.4.2.
