Back Up App Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open the “Settings” menu
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset
  4. Turn on “Back up my data” to back up account data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to your Google account
  5. Enable “Automatic restore” and your account will restore data automatically upon reinstalling apps

NOTE: App data will also be automatically restored when you sign in with your Google backup account for the first time on the phone, or after a factory reset.

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings
  3. Access “Accounts
  4. Select an account to sync contacts with
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now

NOTE: The contacts backed up using this method will be restored automatically when you sign in with your Google account, such as after a factory reset.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the BLU Dash X and your PC
  2. On the home screen, swipe the “Status” bar down and make sure "Media sync (MTP)” is enabled
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on your phone
  4. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on your PC
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  6. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the BLU Dash X to your PC via USB
  2. From the phone’s “notification” area, make sure “Media sync (MTP)” is enabled
  3. Open the File Explorer on your PC and locate the media file backups on the HDD
  4. Copy the files from your computer, and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory (or otherwise the folder they originate from)
  5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB connector
