Back Up App Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings
  3. Tap “Backup & reset” under “Personal
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi password, account data, and settings to your Google account
  5. Turn on “Automatic restore” to allow your account to restore app data automatically upon reinstallation

NOTE: App data / settings etc. will also be automatically restored when you sign in with your Google backup account for the first time on the phone, such as after a factory reset.

Back Up Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Tap “Accounts
  3. Select the account you want to use for contact backup
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now

NOTE: When you sign in with your Google backup account for the first time on the phone – such as after a factory reset – contacts will be automatically restored.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Alcatel Flash 2 and computer
  2. On the phone’s home screen, swipe the “Notification” bar down
  3. Make sure “Media sync (MTP)” is enabled
  4. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  5. Locate the media files on your phone, and copy them
  6. Paste the files in the desired backup location on your computer
  7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray, and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Alcatel Flash 2 to your computer via USB
  2. Drag the “Notification” bar down and ensure” Media sync (MTP)” is turned on
  3. Launch an Explorer window on the PC
  4. Navigate to, and copy the media file backups from your computer
  5. Transfer the files back on your phone, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB connector
