Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device
  2. Tap “Battery
  3. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver

Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Display” under “Device
  3. If necessary, turn off “Adaptive brightness
  4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the slider towards the left to decrease brightness
  5. Return to the “Display” menu and tap “Sleep
  6. Select a lower screen timeout value, such as “15 seconds

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: To conserve battery life in the long run, you can disable the phone’s connectivity features when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS.

  1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” tiles to disable these features
  3. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
  4. Tap “Location” for additional GPS options
  5. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving
  6. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings” tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
  7. Turn off “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can negatively affect your battery performance even when you don’t use them, due to the fact that some apps perform regular background processes. As such, by removing or disabling unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Apps” under “Device
  3. Go to “Downloaded
  4. Select the desired application
  5. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to turn off the app
  6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your accounts to sync less data, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Personal
  3. Tap “Accounts
  4. Select an account type
  5. Clear the boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Launch the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type
  4. Tap “2G” to limit connectivity
