Create and Select an APN (Access Point Name) Profile:
- Tap “Settings” on the Start screen
- Tap “Network & wireless” > “Cellular & SIM”
- Tap “SIM settings”
- Under “Internet APN", tap “Add an internet APN”
- Complete the “Profile Name”, “APN”, “Username”, “Password” etc. fields
- Once you finish adding the APN information, tap “Save”
- Select the desired APN profile you want to use
Select Networks Manually:
- Open the “Settings” menu
- Tap “Network & wireless”
- Tap “Cellular & SIM” > “SIM settings”
- Tap “Search for networks” under “Cellular network”
- Select the desired (available) network provider
Switch between 2G / 4G:
- Tap “Settings” on the Start screen
- Tap “Network & Wireless” > “Cellular & SIM”
- Go to “SIM settings”
- Tap the “Highest connection speed” option under “Cellular network”
- Select between “LTE”, “4G”, or “2G”
Turn Mobile Data On / Off:
- Open the “Settings” menu and tap “Networks & wireless”
- Tap “Cellular & SIM”
- Tap the “Data connection” switch under “Cellular Data” to enable or disable mobile data
Enable / Disable Airplane Mode:
- Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Tap “Network & wireless”
- Tap “Airplane mode”
- Press the switch under “Status” and set it to “On” or “Off”
Turn Data Roaming On or Off:
- Open the “Settings” menu
- Tap “Network & wireless” > “Cellular & SIM”
- Tap the “Data roaming options” box under “SIM”
- Select “roam” or “Don’t roam”
Enable / Disable Anti-Theft:
- Tap “Settings” on the Start screen
- Tap “update & security”
- Tap “Find My Phone”
- Select “Turn on” or “Turn off”
- Enter your Microsoft Live password and tap “Enter”
Enable / Disable Developer Options:
- Open the “Settings” menu
- Tap “Update & security”
- Tap “For developers”
- Select “Windows Store apps” to make sure you install apps only from the Windows store
- Manage other available developer options as you desire
Enable / Disable Emergency Alerts:
- Tap the “Messaging” tile on the Start screen
- Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
- Go to “Change emergency alert settings”
- Select to enable or disable one, or more of the following:
- Extreme Alerts
- Severe Alerts
- AMBER Alerts
NOTE: Presidential Alerts are enabled by default and cannot be turned off.
