Back Up Account and Application Data:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Turn on “Back up my data” to back up Wi-Fi passwords, account data, and settings to your Google account
- To allow app data to be restored automatically upon reinstallation, tap “Automatic restore”
Back Up Contacts on Your Google Account:
- Launch the “Settings” menu
- Go to “Accounts” and tap “Google”
- Select the desired backup account
- Make sure “Contacts” is enabled
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”
NOTE: The contacts synced to your Google account will be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the account used for the backup.
Back Up Contacts to Storage:
- Launch “Contacts”
- Go to “All Contacts”
- Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
- Tap “Export to storage” > “OK”
NOTE: To restore contacts, follow the first 3 steps above and tap “Import from storage” instead of “Export”. Next, select the vCard file and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the Astro X55 and your computer
- On the phone, drag the “Status” bar down and make sure “Media device (MTP)” is enabled
- Switch to the computer and launch the File Explorer
- Locate the media files on your phone and copy them
- Transfer the media files in the desired backup location on your computer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB connector
NOTE: To restore media files from your computer, follow the same steps detailed above, and copy the files from the PC onto your phone storage.
