Back Up and Restore App Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings
  3. Under “Personal”, tap “Backup & reset
  4. To back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords and settings to your Google account, turn on “Back up my data
  5. To allow your Google account to restore data automatically upon the next login, enable “Automatic Restore

Back Up / Restore Contacts Using a Google Account:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings
  3. Tap “Accounts” and select “Google
  4. Select the account you want to use for the backup
  5. Make sure “Contacts” is enabled
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

NOTE: Contacts backed up on your Google account will be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your backup account. Otherwise, after signing in, you can repeat the steps above and to “Sync Now” and restore the contacts.

Back Up Contacts to Storage:

  1. Open “Contacts
  2. Go to “All Contacts” and tap “Menu
  3. Tap “Import / Export
  4. Select to “Export to storage
  5. Make sure you remember the vCard file’s name for future use and tap “OK

Restore Contacts from Storage:

  1. Open “Contacts
  2. Go to “All Contacts
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export
  4. Select to “Import from storage
  5. After the phone finishes searching for vCard files, select the vCard to import and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process

Back Up and Restore Media Files Using a Windows Computer:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect the Lava P7 to your computer
  2. At the prompt, enable “Media sync (MTP)”, otherwise enable the option from the “Notification” area
  3. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  4. Use the Explorer to locate the media files on your phone
  5. Copy the files and paste them in the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB

NOTE: To restore media files from a computer, follow the first 3 steps above and then copy the media file backups from the computer, back to the phone storage (preferably in the “Media” directory)
