Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Alcatel Dawn to your computer using the USB cord
- Unlock your phone if necessary
- Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Use the Explorer to locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy the audio files you wish to use as ringtones / notification sounds, and paste them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folders in the “Media” directory
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Scroll to “Device” and tap “Sound & Notification”
- Tap “Phone ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK” to confirm
- Optionally, you can select to “Also vibrate for calls”
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set for contacts stored on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.
- Launch “Contacts”
- Select the contact you want to customize
- Tap “Edit” > “Menu”
- Tap “Set ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Tap “OK” to confirm
Change the Notification Sound:
- Open “Settings”
- Tap “Sound & notification” under “Device”
- Tap “Default notification ringtone”
- Choose the notification sound you want to use
- Tap “OK” to confirm
