I have TMOBILE and my contract will be ending soon. I like it, but I would like to hear about your service and if you like it or not. Should I switch? And if I should, what to?

I have only had Cingular and Verizon

Verizon is much better than cingular.
I have friends that work for TMobile. They say if you are going to be in your local area Tmobile is fine. You start having problems when you travel.

    T-Mobile

I have T-Mobile myself, and have had NO problems with it. Tmobile works great for travel too. This company relatively has cheap phone packages and great customer/technical support.

I would not recommend Nextel. They are expensive, and have a few friends who have have that service and cannot wait for their contract to expire to switch to T-mobile.

The only thing I would recommend you do is renew your contract with T-mobile and get a better phone. I personally have the Samsung V205, and have had NO problems what-so-ever with it. Very nice phone. If you do not need the camera in the cell, and prefer Java, then go with the Samsung S105. It's up to you, but again, I would stick with T-Mobile. Hope this helps

from oldest service to most recent, here's my list:

Cellular One (1993) great service for the time, analog was obviously crippling, no complaints about customer service or billing.

Sprint PCS (2000) got it when i came back to the states. great service, horrible reception. limited calling areas imbedded in many roaming areas. customer service is spotty, reduction in CS by charging for CS calls and limited CS hours became a PITA. and then their plans were overshot by competitors.

Verizon (2001) great service in Tampa, FL with little to no holes. during a x-country drive, i encountered a roaming hole from Tallahassee, FL all the way to Seattle, WA. they refused to credit me for the roaming charges, even tho i was on the nationwide network and was on a national plan. i switched to a local phone number and they restarted my contract, even tho that's not required. they also charged me a service fee to change the number, although it's clearly described on their site and by CS that it would be free. i cancelled their service within months for that.

AT&T (2003) awful. GSM has holes everywhere, as they seem to not have many system sharing agreements, or they choose to be the only 850mhz GSM provider or something. i received multiple false charges on my account, even after showing them the life timer compared to the minutes charged did not add up, they still refused to drop the charges. i cancelled their service.

T-Mobile (2003) best one yet. GSM coverage overall is a bit spotty, like with any other provider, but not nearly as bad as AT&T. CS is awesome, being the #6 provider in the US, they definitely go a step beyond to keep their customers happy. billing and minutes used are almost in real time, and have yet to find an error. best choice of quality hardware, with new models consistently being added to the lineup. gets much better coverage in my local area over Verizon. this one seems to be a keeper, for now. best of all, their headquarters is local for me, in Bellevue, WA... so their level of service should remain high, at least in this area.

i've FIDO and there is not a lot of coverage. the network is slow but the contracts are good: billing at the second for all contracts, free calls between FIDO users or a free day the day you want.
that's good but it's not the best provider

at any given time or location you could 'say' that each of the carriers 'suck' it is totally dependant on where you go and what you utilize... ie data, voice-only stuff... everyone wants to pay less money for more and there is always a compromise... Would you be willing to double your bill to assure that your calls are always completed?? and besides people's opinions are just that opinions.... reality is sometimes far from perception.. just a little rant I am using sprintpcs and have used att wireless, nextel...
