Was looking around and didn't see anything on this. I wanted to get a new GSM phone (probably a KRZR). Is it possible to buy an unlocked GSM phone on eBay (for alot cheaper than what the cell phone companies want) and use it with a prepaid plan like T-mobile or ATT's prepaid plans? I see that T-mobile has the RAZR phone on their prepaid site but not the KRZR.

Re: phones & prepaid service
As long as it is an unlocked GSM phone, it should work. Two weeks ago I bought an unlocked RAZR V3 on eBay. It had been a Cingular phone, but it worked with the T-Mobile ToGo SIM card just fine. I was also able to modify the phone so that it now has all the T-Mobile programming on it, instead of the Cingular stuff. (Look in the Motorola forum on this site and here for links and further info how to do this.)
Would you like some cheese with that whine?
