I'm trying to find a good deal that will let us save on the actual price of the phones (even if it's only one good one, since mine is still pretty good from my old plan) but all the major providers only seem to offer discounts if you get an individual plan but not if you get a family plan. And why are family plans so much more expensive (usually $20 a month more) for the same amount of minutes?
Another question is this: All of these providers require long contracts but I don't want to be stuck with a ****ty provider in my new place (my current/soon to be old verizon phone gets bad reception but I'm unsure if it's just the phone which is pretty old). Are there any providers that let you test drive it so to speak to make sure I won't have a deadspot in my apartment? I'm leaning towards AT&T for the Razr since I prefer flip-phones since they seem to be more durable and I've heard good things about them but I've also heard bad things about AT&T's reception and dropped calls so I want to test it out first.
