Actually my service provider is Suncom, with my two years contract I purchased an insurance. I lost my phone a couple of weeks ago, called Suncom, and they gave me the phone number for the insurance company. I called the insurance company and they replied that I don't have any insurance and therefore need to call back to my service provider. I did so, and they called the insurance company and fixed it for me, but not before letting me know that I needed to call them back and get a claiming number. Once I get the claim number, went to Suncom to get my new phone, WOW, I was thinking I was getting a phone just like the one I had, after all, I was paying insurance for that specific model. After waiting two hours, the CSR gave me choice, a cellphone that doesn't even compare to the one I had, and a Samsung slider that could be use as a baton in prison. I told the CSR that the insurance company told me that I was going to get my own model or an equivalent one. They said that the phone that she showed me are the ONLY one that the insurance company pay for. Mad as hell, I called the insurance company back, I told them that it was not fair for me to pay for an insurance and pay a $50.00 deductible for a piece of crab when they said that I was getting the same model or an equivalent one, guess what was their response, :"Sir, we do not deal with the phone model, that is the wireless company decision." OK, but there's one tiny problem, the wireless company don't want to be responsible for it neither, and now I'm stuck paying for a service that I'm not getting and either company are willing to help. How do you call this? Isn't it FRAUD? The only place that I can get help are from the BBB and the FCC, I wrote to them all ready and let's see what happen, but before you decide to purchase an insurance for your cellphone, remember to ask, who is going to insure your cellphone, what will happen if you lost your phone, what's going to happen if they discontinue the model that you have, what other phone you'll get. Never be afraid to ask, it's your right and your money, remember they are the one that need you, there are plenty of other company to choose from. God, I'm glad I got this off of my chest. Suncom STINKS, it's true.
