Hi. I'm looking for advice on a carrier to choose.
I'm going to be in New York for just over 3 months. I am from the UK and have an HTC Desire. I have a UK contract but obviously don't want to have to pay for international calls/text/data while I'm in the States.
What I'm after is a monthly sim-card only contract which gives me unlimited data. I am not hugely fussed about a large amount of calls and texts bundled in, although some would be nice. In the UK, o2 has a plan called "Simplicity". The cheapest option gives unlimited data/text and 300 minutes for £20 ($30). This is exactly the kind of contract I'm looking for.
I know nothing about US carriers, although I did have a quick look around the major names that I knew already such as Verizon and T-Mobile but I didn't find much.
Does such a contract exist, and could someone point me in the direction of a couple of possibilities?
Thanks very much.

Re: Moving to NY for 3 months
as far as unlimited data goes, the cheapest, temporary option is probly the at&t go phone, for 50$ a month you get unlimited everything and no contract. as at&t is a gsm carrier it won't require the purchase of a new phone (assuming your phone's unlocked.)
otherwise there's metro pcs for 40$, but that would require purchasing a new phone all together as they run a cdma network.
best of luck and enjoy nyc!

Re: Moving to NY for 3 months
I definitely don't want to have to buy a new phone. I can't seem to find the correct package for AT&T Go Phone that you mentioned. Could you give me a direct link?
Thanks.
