I'm thinking of getting the unlocked 5c. I currently use a cheap "go" phone from att with basic services that include unlimited messaging. It's a pretty cheap plan that I use and I'm wondering if I can use the same payment plan for my "unlocked" 5c. Is this what the advantage of having an unlocked device?

You would have to switch the plan to get data.You'll need the $65 a month smartphone plan that includes 1gb of 4g LTE data. You will also need to get a nano sim card, or cut your current card very carefully or with a cutter.

Also make sure you get the A1532

AT&T now has a $60 Smartphone service plan which give two gigabytes of data. Some of the other service plans have also changed.
