I recently switched from AT&T's Go Phone Pay As You Go $.10/min plan to Airvoice Wireless. The plan comparison:
AT&T Gophone a combination of 1000 calls or 500 texts, no data, no roaming for $100/yr
Airvoice Wireless a combination of 3000 calls or 6000 texts, data $.06/MB, roaming for $120/yr
They also have a variety of monthly plans.
Same coverage and call quality. One of my concerns using an MVNO was technical support. With AT&T support was minimal, if you were lucky you could get an answer on their forum, I could never get any help on the phone and the store personnel had minimal knowledge. With Airvoice Wireless, filling out a tech support form got an email response within an hour and further communincation was by replying to the email. Or you could call and get immediate support, I never had to wait more than a couple of miinutes and they were always able to help. Porting my number from AT&T took about an hour.
I am thoroughly satisfied with Air Voice Wireless and highly recommend it!!
Mike
