Some computers will not rename file extensions - they simply rename the file which does not help if the
midi downloads as a php extension etc...
To change this on your computer you need to do the following
go to Start Menu
then Control Panel
at the top of this window you will see
file edit view favourites tools help
select tools
and from the drop down window
folder options
select the view tab
scroll down and 'un tick'
hide file extensions for known file types
then apply / save
now if you download a
midi and it says something else like php then simply right click the file and select rename
and rename the file to
something.mid (the name of your file and then .mid at the end!)
BE CAREFUL!!! Once you rename the file if you make a mistake the file will be lost -
but if you do it correctly it will make the file play as a
midi!
