#1 | | Newbie | I have a i880. I have been trying to load ringtones to it using webjal. But when I do this it puts them in as a audio file that can not be set as a ringtone. Any one know the trick?

#2 | | Newbie | Extreme,
I am trying to do the same. I have been told you have to convert your songs to wav files. Have you done this? I can't even get my webjal program to run. Everytime I try to launch it I get a message saying: "Program did not get information from server," and it won't run. Do you have any idea what is going on with this? I have the same phone you have and it's very frustrating.

#4 | | /\/\s. /\/\/\odette | Use the format found in my Nextel Media sticky.
I lower the volume and convert to Mp3 with DbPoweramp,
load with WEBJAL and assign as ringtone. Just did it, it works.

Make sure you have WEB access.
You may be blocked by Antivirus, IE-7, firewall etc. check it.
If all that is good, go to my Iden Links sticky
Topic: WEBJAL ...there's tons of fixes on that site. i880
If WEBJAL wont see the phone,
set WEBJAL up with a known good phone (i870)
then just swap them out.

#8 | | Newbie | I got a connection with the phone. I tried to download a wav ringtone. It downloaded and I then I got the message: 'A general error occured while communicating with the phone. Please verify the connection between the phone, computer and cable as well as preferance setting. In addition you may set phone baud rate to 19200.'
There was no ringtone.
Webjal said my phone was connected. My baud rate was at 19200 and I had also disabled my card reader.
Any ideas? | | |

Any ideas? | look at my sticky posted above, and make sure the format is correct, length @20 sec, file name short...
Also, i880 plays Mp3 just fine.
Try the sample ringtone in my Nextel media sticky

#10 | | Newbie | Ok Cam,
I finally got this thing to upload. I had to do a reg edit fix to force the connection with my phone. I am using dbpower like you did to convert. In order for me to upload a ringtone i have to use 8bit 8000HZ and 1 mono with the dbpower converter. If i try to convert to mp3 and stereo it just ends up on my media again. Is the way I do it the same as you have to? Does this mean the ringtones I load are in mono? The i880 can play stereo. And finally, what did you mean by turning down the volume? How do you do this and for what purpose??
Thank you much for all the help and patience, and the same to all of you who have taken the time to reply to my posts. I also hope Trauma, who started this thread, got the answers he needed.

#11 | | /\/\s. /\/\/\odette | Yes, ringtones are mono, and lower the volume for i880 because otherwize it will be to loud.
Turn it down in the DbPoweramp powerpack.
Mp3 audio is Stereo, 192 kbps max.

#14 | | Newbie | Cam,
I hit try powerpack on my dbpoweramp music converter and it took me to this dbpoweramp website. I don't see anything on here about downloading powerpack(even though it talks about powerpack). How do i get powerpack so I can turn down the volume of my ringtones before i upload them?
Sorry for being a pest. I really am.
