To set an mp3 as a ringtone go to

• music
• songs
• tap and hold on the song
• use as phone ringtone

If you downloaded ring extender you can set any mp3 as a notification tone by going to

• settings
• sound & display
• notification ringtone
• rings extended

To create a ringtone by taking a snippet from an mp3 download ringtone editor first then go

• ringtone editor
• create ringtone from song
• ringtone editor
• record new ringtone
