Odd keyboard failure

I have an HTC G1 and whenever i press the delete key i get a bunch of numbers and also changes the ringer volume all over than place. I also get a bunch of numbers every time i the press the enter key. I am not sure if it is a software problem or a electrical. I have hard reset the phone two or three times and it still does it. If anyone knows what this is please help me out.

Sounds like something got turn around or messed up on the circuit board, and its now pushing the wrong buttons, or a short. If your covered under the insurance, you need to get it checked out or replaced. If not, you may need to take it to a repair person.
