Adding a POP3/IMAP Email account

1. Go the Home screen and tap Apps.
2. Then tap Mail and select one of the following options:
• in case this is the first time you add an email account then, on the Choose a mail provider screen select Other (POP3 or IMAP).
• in case you’ve added an email account until now, then tap the Menu key -> select New account -> tap Other (POP3 or IMAP).
3. Then tap the Email field and enter your email address.
4. Tap the Password field and enter your password.
5. When done, tap Next.
6. Enter the desired account name and finally tap Finish setup.

Adding a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync Account

Note: You can synchronize your HTC One VX with SP2 (Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack) or later.

1. Go to the Home screen and tap Apps.
2. Then tap Mail and select one of the following options:
• If this is your first time adding an email account, then from the Choose a mail provider screen tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
• If you’ve already added an email account before, then tap the Menu key -> select New account -> tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
3. Next, you need to enter the details of your Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
4. When done, tap Next.
5. Select the desired syncing options and tap Next.
6. Enter the desired account name and to finalize the process, tap Finish setup.

Note: The HTC One VX will try to auto-detect the necessary details from your corporate Exchange server. But in case the server doesn’t support auto-detect, you’ll need to contact your server administrator for the details and enter them manually.

Working with Exchange ActiveSync Email

Setting an Out of the office status:

1. Switch to the Exchange ActiveSync account.
2. Tap the Menu key and select Out of the office.
3. Tap on the office status that you’re currently using and then select Out of the office.
4. Select the desired date and time for the auto-replay message.
5. Then write the desired auto-replay message.
6. You can also send a different auto-replay message to recipients outside of your organization. To do so you need to tap Send auto replay message to external recipient and, in the designated box, enter the desired auto-replay message.
7. When ready, tap Save.

Sending a meeting request:

1. Switch to the ActiveSync account.
2. Tap the Menu key and select New meeting invitation.
3. Then type in the details of the meeting.
4. When done, tap Save.

Syncing Emails Less Frequently

If you don’t want to sync your email too often, you can use Smart Sync to extend the time before your smartphone syncs your email accounts. This will also help you conserve the battery life longer.

1. Go to the email account where you’d like to use Smart Sync.
2. Then tap the Menu key -> tap Settings -> select Sync, Send & Receive.
3. Then tap Peak time sync -> select Smart Sync -> tap Off-peak sync -> Smart Sync.
4. Then press the < key.

Note: The Smart Sync will extend the time before your email is sync after each auto-sync time that passes and you don’t access the Email app. But you can always sync your email account by simply accessing the app and checking the inbox.
