VPN Connectivity
NOTE: Before connecting to your organization's local network you may be asked to:
- Install security certificates
- Download and install a required VPN app
- Enter your login credentials
Adding a VPN Connection:
- Swipe the status bar down using two fingers
- Tap the "Settings" icon
- Under "Wireless & networks", tap "More"
- Tap "VPN", press the "Menu" icon and tap "Add VPN profile"
- Enter the required VPN settings
- Tap "Save"
Connecting to a VPN:
- Access the "Settings" menu and tap "More" under "Wireless & networks"
- Tap "VPN"
- Select the VPN that you wish to connect to
- Enter the log in credentials and tap "Connect"
Disconnecting from a VPN:
- Open the Notifications panel by dragging the status bar down using one finger
- Tap the VPN notification
- Tap "Disconnect"
Using Your One max as a Wireless Router
NOTE: In order to use this feature and share your data connection with other phones using Wi-Fi Hotspot, you need to have an approved data plan. WARNING! Depending on your carrier agreement, using this feature might result in extra costs!
- Drag the status bar down using two fingers
- Tap "Settings"
- Tap "More" under "Wireless & networks"
- Press the "Mobile network sharing" option
- Tap "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings"
- Optionally, enter a router name
- Select the type of security, and set a password for mobile hotspot. Note: you can select "None" in security, but your network will not be secured, so it's not recommended to do so
- Select the "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot" option to enable the wireless router
Sharing Your Phone's Internet Connection via USB Tethering
Using USB tethering, you can share your phone's data connection with your computer. NOTE: in order to use this feature, you may need to have a USB Tethering plan added to your agreement with the carrier. WARNING! Using this feature may result in extra charges, depending on the type of carrier agreement.
- Drag the status bar down using two fingers
- Make sure that "Mobile data" is enabled. If it isn't, tap the respective tile in the Quick Settings panel
- Tap "Settings"
- Under "Wireless & networks", tap "More"
- Tap "Mobile network sharing" and then tap "USB network settings" > "USB tethering" (Or "Mobile network sharing" > "USB tethering")
- Connect your smartphone to your computer using the USB cable that came in your phone's box. If necessary, download the latest USB drivers
