Via iTunes:

NOTE: if you have iTunes installed on a computer with Internet access, you can export your iPhone contacts to a Goolge account, and then re-sync the contacts with your HTC One M8s. To do so:

  1. Launch iTunes on your computer
  2. Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer
  3. Click the iPhone in iTunes and access the "Info" tab
  4. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. Choose "Google Contacts" from the drop-down menu
  6. Type in your Google account's log in details if necessary, or alternatively click "Configure" and select an existing account if applicable
  7. Click "Apply" and the syncing process will begin
  8. Next, register the Google account used in iTunes on your HTC One M8s
  9. Allow the account to sync contacts with your HTC smartphone

Via iCloud:

NOTE: If you have used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone before, you can access the iCloud account on a computer and export the contacts for Android use. To do this:

  1. Open the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and click "Contacts"
  4. Select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click the "Settings" button and select "Export vCard"
  6. Wait for the VCF file to be downloaded on your computer and import it to "Google Contacts". Alternatively skip this step and instead:
  7. Connect the HTC One M8s to your computer via USB, copy the VCF file to the "sdcard" directory and launch the "People" app. Then, press "Menu" > "Manage contacts" > "Import /Export contacts" > select to import from SD or storage and load the VCF file to your phonebook

Using "My Contacts Backup":

NOTE: My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up your contacts in a VCF file, and transfer it to your Android device via email. This method doesn't require a computer but it needs an active Internet connection on both smartphones

  1. Open the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the app and tap "Backup"
  3. Tap "Email" to compose a new email and attach the back up file to it
  4. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  5. Switch to the HTC One M8s and open the email, then download the attachment
  6. Import the downloaded VCF file using the "People" app and the "Import" option from the menu

Using "Send Anywhere":

NOTE: Send Anywhere is an iOS and Android application that can be used for transferring contacts and other types of files without needing a computer, using a P2P connection.

  1. Install "Send Anywhere" on your HTC One M8s from the Play Store
  2. Visit the App Store and download the app on your iPhone
  3. Launch Send Anywhere on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  5. Select the contacts you want to share and tap "Send"
  6. Lastly, choose the desired contact transfer method. Tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone to create a code that can be scanned with the HTC One M8s' camera to begin the transfer, or tap "Receive" on the HTC device to manually enter the transfer code generated on the iPhone
