How-to: HTC One A9: Manage Contacts, Caller Groups, and the Call Log

Create a Contact:

1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
2. Launch “People”
3. Tap “+” and enter the contact’s name
4. Tap the “Contact Type” button and select an option, like “Phone”
5. Tap the button under “Phone” and select a phone number type
6. Enter the contact’s phone number and other details in the appropriate fields
7. When done, tap “Save”

Import / Export Contacts:

1. Open the apps drawer
2. Open “People”
3. Tap “Menu” > “Manage contacts”
4. Tap “Import / Export contacts”
5. Choose to “Import from SIM card” / “Export to SIM card” / “Import from SD Card” / “Export to SD Card”
6. If necessary, select the desired contacts, or tap “Menu” > “Select all”
7. Perform any necessary steps that may follow, to export or import the contacts

Add a Contact to Speed Dial:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Tap “Menu” > “Speed dial”
3. Tap the “Add” icon and select a contact (NOTE: you can use the “Search” field to find the contact quicker)
4. Tap the button under “Number” and choose the phone number you want to add to speed dial
5. Tap the button under “Location” to link the phone number with an available speed dial key
6. Tap “Save”

Delete Contacts:

1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
2. Launch “People”
3. Tap “Menu” and select “Delete contacts”
4. Choose the contact(s) you want to remove
5. Tap “Delete” to confirm

Create a Caller Group:

1. Launch “Phone”
2. Swipe the screen left to access the “Groups” tab
3. Tap “+” and enter the name for the group
4. Tap “Save”

Add a Contact to an Existing Caller Group:

1. Tap “Phone” on the home screen
2. Access the “Groups” tab
3. Select a group
4. Tap “+” and mark the check box(es) associated with the contact(s) you want to add to the group (NOTE: you can also use the “Search” field)
5. Tap “Save”

View and Reset the Call Log:

1. Tap “Phone” on the home screen
2. Slide to the “Call History” tab
3. To reset the call log, first tap “Menu”
4. Then tap “Remove call history” > “Menu” > “Select all”
5. Tap “Delete” > “OK”
