Using iTunes:

NOTE: If you have iTunes on your computer with Internet access, you can use the application to sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data with the HTC One A9.

  1. Open iTunes on the PC
  2. Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
  3. After it connects, click the iPhone in iTunes to view the device summary page
  4. Go to the “Info” tab and enable “Sync Contacts With
  5. Select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  6. Sign in with your Google account, or click “Configure” and select an existing account if available
  7. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  8. Once the sync is complete, switch to the One A9, register the same Google account on it, and allow it to sync contacts with your phone

Using iCloud:

NOTE: If you have used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone in the past, the contacts on your phone should already be backed up on your iCloud account. Thus you can access the iCloud account on a computer connected to the Internet, and export the contacts for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and co to “Contacts
  4. Mark the check boxes next to the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard
  6. Once the vCard file is downloaded, import it to “Google Contacts
  7. Alternatively, skip the step above and instead connect the One A9 to your computer via USB, copy the vCard file to the phone storage, and use the “Import” option from the “People” application, to add the vCard to your phonebook

Via “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: If you need to transfer your contacts without using a computer, you can use third party applications instead. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer your iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app
  3. Tap “Backup” and wait for the backup file to be created
  4. Once done, tap “Email” and make sure the backup file is attached to the new email
  5. Send the email with the attachment to your own address
  6. Switch to the HTC One A9, open the email, and download the attached vCard file
  7. Import the file’s contents using the “People” application

Via “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app for iOS and Android, which uses a P2P connection to transfer contacts and other file types without requiring a computer.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Visit the Play Store and install the same app on the HTC One A9
  3. Launch the app on both terminals
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts” and select the desired contacts
  5. Tap “Send” and choose a transfer method, such as “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone, or “Receive” on the HTC One A9
