Back Up Data to Google Drive:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings
  3. Scroll to and tap “Backup & reset
  4. Tap “Backup account” > “HTC account
  5. Sign in with your HTC account, if necessary, or alternatively use a Google or Facebook account
  6. Tap “Google Drive” in the “Cloud Storage” menu
  7. Tap “OK
  8. Sign in with your Google account to gain access to Drive
  9. Tap “Back up now” and optionally, enable “Automatic backup

NOTE: To perform daily auto backups over Wi-Fi, go to “Settings” > “Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi”

Restore Data from Google Drive After Fresh Reset:

  1. When you first sign in with your Google account after a factory reset, you will be asked to “Restore from HTC Backup
  2. Select to restore data
  3. Register the Google backup account
  4. Go to history and select the desired backup to restore
  5. Tap “Next” and allow “Drive” to connect
  6. Once the files have been restored, tap “Next

Back up & Restore Data Locally

Back Up Contacts on Storage / SD Card:

  1. Tap “Phone” on the home screen
  2. Access the “Phone” tab
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Manage contacts
  4. Tap “Import / Export contacts
  5. Select to “Export to SD Card” or “Export to phone storage
  6. Select an account and optionally, set a password for the backup file by tapping “Yes
  7. Press “OK” to confirm

Restore Contacts from SD Card / Storage:

  1. Launch “People
  2. Go to the “Phone” tab and tap “Menu
  3. Tap “Manage contacts” > “Import / Export contacts
  4. Tap “Import from storage
  5. Select an account if necessary, and tap the backup file to restore
  6. Tap “OK” to confirm
  7. If the backup file is protected by a password, enter it and tap “OK

Back Up Messages:

  1. Tap “Messages” on the home screen
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Backup & Restore SMS
  3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS
  4. Optionally you can set a password for the backup file
  5. Enter the desired file name and tap “OK

Back Up Messages via Email:

  1. Open “Messages
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Back up / Restore SMS
  3. Tap “Back up” > “Back up SMS via email
  4. Select whether to password protect the file
  5. Send the email to your own address

NOTE: To restore messages from an email, download the backup file attachment and import it via “Messages”

Back Up Dictionaries:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Scroll to and tap “Language & Keyboard
  3. Tap “HTC Sense Input
  4. Tap “Personal dictionary” > “Menu
  5. Select to “Back up to storage” or “Back up to email
  6. Tap “OK

Back Up & Restore Tasks:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Tasks
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export
  4. Select to “Export to SD card

NOTE: To restore tasks, open “Tasks” and tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”. Next, tap “Import from SD card” and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process.
