HI, i just wanted to know if there is a charge to connect wifi to a cingular htc 8125 phone or do i have to have a medianet package if i'm at a starbucks etc.... thanks

you need a plan for it at starbucks..... call cingular and see if thats one of their spots, i think barnes and noble is, but i dont think starbucks is... you might have to get it straight from starbucks/tmobile...

It's called PDA Connect, $44.99/mo. unlimited data usage and wifi. If it's an add-on to a voice plan, it should only be $39.99/mo.

im pretty sure you have to pay to pay some extra $$$ to be able to use the wifi with the PDA connect...


SPHY: if you find out if wifi hotspots are included in that plan, let us know, i didnt think it was... i think thats about an extra $20-$30 buckeroos....

Now you got me questioning myself lol, let me look into it and find out for sure.

Well I found this: Data Connect - Cingular Wireless

...but I can't find out if there is an additional charge or not. On the DataConnect for laptops there is, but it doesn't say for PDA's.

thanks, I was asking because a friend of a friend said they could connect to any wifi and only had a regular voice plan and does not get charged. I'll will also try to find out and get in touch with that "friend of a friend".

he was just wrong about ANY wifi, lol. i would assume you could get free wifi with your 8125 that is FREE, like your home network, Panera Bread (dont know if those are everywhere...), but not if there is a charge/password needed....
