I really badly want a decent smartphone or pda phone that works on the US Cellular network. I would want data to work as well. They've got the cdma moto q now but it's a little outdated using wm5. Anyways, does anyone know of any non uscc phones that I could get to work on their network?
    Thanks!

    No.
U.S. Cellular is a CDMA carrier. There are basically 2 technologies in use with cell phones, CDMA and GSM. The carriers that use cdma generally do not allow any phones on their networks that they did not sell originally. The service settings are in the phone itself. With GSM the service settings are in a sim card which can be moved from phone to phone. Which means simply, that with a GSM carrier you can buy an unlocked phone and use it on any GSM Carrier.
HTC sells GSM only phones, at least to the public.
What this means to you is that you most likely will not be able to get an HTC phone for your carrier.
On a side note, GSM is the world wide standard for Cell phones. The only places that use CDMA are the U.S. and a few other countries in the Americas.

Im aware of cdma and gsm and which carriers use which. I gave cingular a try but they have crap coverage in my area. Im pretty much screwed unless a better carrer puts up some towers in my area. I talked to someone at usc and they said they generally dont do phones that they dont sell because they have no usc programming. Since i dont have the skills to program a cell myself, im wondering if it might be possible to put wm6 on my moto q while still maintaining the usc programming?
