AT&T Tilt - How to access internet of mobile device on Laptop

Hi friends,

I am having the internet access on my AT&T Tilt HTC mobile phone. I want to access this internet on my laptop. I tried accessing that by connecting through USB cable. The connection was available on COM3 port, but internet was still not working. I also have wi-fi available on mobile as well as laptop.
Can u please let me know how can I access internet on my laptop?
