    Hi,

I have had a HTC product since first getting a cell phone so was always able to chooses songs i put on my phone to be my ringtone without any problem. Because the iphone is an ipod too, how can i just set a song i have in my itunes either from itunes or not to be the ringtone on the phone rather than going on itunes or anything else?

Well, the ringtone can only be 30 seconds long. Therefore, it can't be just "set" as a ringtone. It has to be converted or downloaded.

    Re: Help Ringtones!

The cheepest way (free) i found to do this:

    1. Find the song you want to make into a ringtone.
    2. right click ==> Get Info ==> Options.
    3. From here check both start time and stop time options.
    4. set a 30 second or less time. If you want to choose a certain part of the song, here would be the place to set it.
    5. Right click the song and ==> convert to AAC
    6. Search for the title of the song in the search bar
    7. manually change the formate from .m4a to .m4r
    8. double click that song (.m4r) and it should come in your music folder.
    9. Delete that song but click on "keep file"
    10. go back and find that same file and double click it again. It should come up in your ringtone folder now
    9. connect your iphone and you're done!

You can also use garage band on the mac to convert the track to a m4r.
But you will need access to a apple mac computer. It allow you to edit the track aswell.

    Re: Help Ringtones!

I think you needn't convert your songs, it has been an audio file, what you do is put it into your ringtone folder.
