This will allow you to connect your HTC Touch Pro2 to your computer using its wifi connection. In essence it makes your phone a wireless router.

Use the below at your own risk. CPF is not responsible for extra data charges you may incur.

    • Download this file to your phone (either open it up in browser or put it on sd card):
      http://files.cellphoneforums.net/fil...haring_VGA.cab
    • Go to Start > Comm Manager - turn Wifi off if it is on
    • Run the .cab file
    • Go to Start > All Applications > CM Internet Sharing
    • Confirm settings (change the name or wep key if you want)
    • Click Start in the lower right
    • Follow the on screen instructions

Now you should be able to connect to your phone like you would a wireless router. Do not download an excessive amount of data with this connection. You will raise a flag and your service provider will charge you for it!

This was tested on a Verizon Touch Pro2, but should also work on the Sprint version

I use this program and it works fine. I edited the cab file to include a shortcut in the startmenu

I found that it screwed up the data connection of the phone when not using the program. Did you find any way around that?

Re: HTC Touch Pro2 Tether (wireless router)

I just recently found this link an tried it out. It works great. I have the Touch Pro2 from Sprint. I may use it just rarely (I am usually near a hotspot). I normally listen streaming audio on the phone using some continuous bandwidth. How is Sprint with using the phone as a hotspot?

Thankyou for the post. It worked like a charm. I couldn't see paying $40-50 per month just to ocationally surf the web.

Re: HTC Touch Pro2 Tether (wireless router)

Greetings, I would like to tether my TP2 and attempted to follow your directions. Unfortunately the site: http://files.cellphoneforums.net/fil...haring_VGA.cab is no longer active. Do you have any advice as to where I can go to accomplish the tether? A response to my email would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. David djclaire at yahoo. com
