How to fix Digital Roaming problem on HTC EVO with repaired MEID

This is for Educational use only..It is not intended for you to illegally clone your phone.
    **ADMIN NOTE**
THE INFORMATION PROVIDED HERE IS NOT INTENDED FOR ILLEGAL PURPOSES. IF YOU ARE HERE TO ASK HOW TO CLONE, CHANGE, SWAP, YOUR MEID FROM ONE PHONE TO ANOTHER "DON'T!" This is info on repairing you're MEID that has malfunctioned. You will be banned otherwise.

This is my first attempt at a guide so go easy..I had 2 evo's stuck on digital roaming and it took me alot of hours to figure out how to fix these things. If you have tried to repair your meid on an evo and are stuck on digital roaming and your prl is stuck at 00000 or just plain stuck then this should fix it.

I put both of my phones on 2.1 and radio 1.39.00.04.26
The main thing you are trying to do is find out what part of your NV area is messed up.If you used CDMA workshop to repair your MEID it may have wrote 0000's to places it shouldnt have.

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU ARENT FAMILIAR WITH QXDM..I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU SCREW UP YOUR PHONE.

I am Using QXDM vers 3.11.36 and also QPST 2.7 Build 355..You can find these if you search the web I dont think I can post them here. You only need to install QPST so that QXDM will see the port for your phone..At least in Win 7 You do.

Make sure you have USB debugging turned on your phone.Thats Menu,Settings,Applications,Development,And check USB Debugging...then enter Diag mode By entering ##3424#

Then install QPST and run it...Click on Add new port and uncheck Show serial USB/QC and you should then see your HTC Diag com port.Highlight it an click on OK.then you can close QPST.

Before Installing QXDM 3.11 you need to turn off your antivirus s/w because your cpu will see it as a virus. After you get it installed Run QXDM professional then choose options then communications then in target port choose your HTC diag port.At that point QXDM should see your phone..you can tell because at the top of QXDM you will see COM ##:QCT 6200

Once you get that hit F4 on your keyboard which will bring you to Memory Viewer.

You will see Address..This is where you enter each individual MEID or PESN address
So to check the 1st address you would put 0x00FAA354 and hit enter.then you will see that address below which should show your MEID in reverse.
    Like 56 34 12 00 00 00 A1 if your MEID was A1000000123456.

If you do change and area make sure to hit the "WRITE" button over to the right side

Continue to check Each address to make sure the correct Pesn or MEID is there in reverse...Some addresses may have data there...leave them alone..I will try to mark which ones to leave alone.

The best thing to use is your own scan but these are the MEID/PESN addresses I have for that particular radio version 1.39.00.04.26
You wont have these addresses If your radio is different and even then some addresses could be different..Its better to use your own scan. You can do your own scan using cdma workshop
Scan the memory areas 00fa-00ff and 0108-01D7 for your pesn and meid addresses.

    00FA:A354 - MEID
    00FC:B710 - MEID
    00FC:8B70 - pESN
    00FC:A43C - pESN
    00FD:6120 - MEID
    00FD:B360 - pESN
    0127:39AC - pESN
    015D:9F7C - MEID
    015D:9F88 - MEID
    015E:3D98 - pESN
    017B:26B0 - MEID
    017B:21FC - pESN
    017B:265C - pESN
    017B:8B18 - pESN
017C:1A58 - pESN I only show all 00000's here so leave it alone
    017C:9660 - pESN
    0187:3804 - pESN
018D:82F4 - MEID It should be your meid in reverse - look to the right you should see your Phone# followed by @hcm.sprintpcs.com
01D1:9547 - MEID I have data here..I didnt touch it
01D1:3C01 - pESN This may or may not show pesn
01D3:36C1 - MEID This may or may not show MEID

Check each of those addresses using QXDM in the memory viewer.Your "CURRENT" MEID or Pesn should be at each address ..If you check a location and it doesnt look like a meid or pesn should be there then DO NOT change it!! If it has 0000's there but not a full screen of 00000's then you need to enter your MEID or Pesn whicever that address calls for there in reverse Example MEID A1000000123456 would be 56 34 12 00 00 00 A1
There is one address that is usually the culprit 018D:82F4

If you goto either of those addresses and there are a few numbers there look to the right and you should see something like Example ....4...'[email protected] if so you found the right address causing the problem.
That address should have your MEID there (backwards of course) if not put it there.
That is the part that is making your phone go into digital roaming.

Once you have all that changed reboot your phone...You should see the HTC logo then the phone will turn off and vibrate 5 times. That is what we want...You then need to put the following PC36IMG.zip on the root of your microSD card.
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

    - Hold volume down while powering the phone on. continue to hold volume down until you see the WHITE bootloader screen.
    - After a few seconds it will begin to checking for files, and find PC36IMG.zip. while its doing this it will show a blue progress bar while its checking. (this takes 30 - 60 seconds to finish)
    - It will then list all the images in the zip and ask you if want to flash. SAY YES
    - When its finished it will ask you if you would like to reboot. AGAIN... SAY YES

-The phone will then reboot 3 or 4 times and then Finally boot up but when it does the Roaming will be gone and you can then write whatever PRL you wish. Also check your MEID # it may change back to original.

I realize this may be hard to follow for some people and I will try to help if I can...The experts should get it easy though...The main thing is finding the addresses with 000's that shouldnt be and fixing them then reflashing phone with the PC36IMG.zip
