Setting up Exchange Email
- Go to the Start screen and swipe to the left.
- Then scroll down to and tap Settings.
- Touch email + accounts and tap add an account.
- Tap Outlook.
- In the Email address field, enter the desired email address.
- In the Password field, enter your password.
- Then tap sign in.
- Tap the User name field and enter the user name.
- Tap Domain and enter the domain.
- When finished, tap sign in.
- In the Server field, enter the server address.
- Then tap show all settings and check or uncheck Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection, as required.
- Tap Account name and type in the desired name.
- Make the desired settings and when finished, tap sign in.
- Your Exchange email account is now completely set up.
Setting up Personal Email
- Go to the Start screen and swipe left.
- Then scroll to and tap Settings.
- Touch email + accounts.
- Tap add an account.
- Touch the desired email account type. For the purpose of this tutorial we’ll go with Google.
- Tap the Email address field and enter your email address.
- Tap the Password field and enter your password.
- When finished, tap sign in.
- Congratulations! Your Gmail account has been successfully set up.
Setting up a Windows Live Account
- Go to the Start screen and swipe left.
- Then scroll to and tap Settings.
- Touch email + accounts.
- Tap add an account.
- Touch Microsoft account.
- Read the message (BEFORE YOU SIGN IN) and then tap next.
- In the Email address field, enter the email associated with your Microsoft account.
- In the Password field, enter the password.
- Then tap sign in.
- To back up your data, tap yes.
- If you don’t want to back up the data at the moment, tap not now.
- The Microsoft account has been set up.
Removing an Email Account
- Go to the Start screen and swipe left.
- Scroll to and tap Settings.
- Touch email + accounts.
- Then tap and hold the email account you wish to delete.
- Tap delete.
- Tap delete once more to confirm.
- The email account has been deleted.
Finding Email Settings
- Go to the Start screen and swipe left.
- Then scroll to and tap Settings.
- Touch email + accounts.
- Tap the desired email account.
- You will now see the available incoming and outgoing email settings.
- To see more settings, scroll down.
- Make the desired changes and when finished, tap done.
Sending or Receiving an Email
- Go to the Start screen, tap the desired email account tile.
- In case the tile is no longer on the Start screen, tap the Menu arrow and touch the email account that you wish to use.
- Then tap the plus sign (+) located at the bottom side of the screen.
- In the To field, enter the desired email address.
- Tap the Subject field and enter the desired subject.
- Then enter the message that you wish to send.
- If you also want to add a photo, tap the Attach icon.
- Select the desired album.
- Then tap the photo or photos that you want to add -> tap Checkmark icon.
- When finished, tap the Send icon located at the bottom side of the screen.
- If you want to also check for new messages, tap the Refresh icon.
- Tap the email you wish to see.
- Your email will be displayed.
- If there’s an attachment included in the email, tap the Attachment icon.
- The attachment will then download.
- To view it, tap the attachment again.
- The attachment will then be displayed.
