    Hi Beanie1159,

What HTC smartphone do you own? Does it run on Sense 4 or Sense 5?

If it's Sense 5 then there's no front-facing camera button in the main viewfinder. You have to open the camera app, go to menu (tap the icon in the top-left - in portrait mode- depicting three dots). There you will find a switch between "Front" and "Main" camera.

Re: Front facing camera is gone and wont work

There have been several reports regarding the HTC Evo 4G LTE's camera doing all sorts of weird stuff.

For some people, sometime it works, sometime it doesn't. In certain cases the camera came back to its senses of its own, and in others, a hard reset had to be applied. Since you've already tried to fix it by factory resetting it, then that's probably not the fix you're looking for.

If the camera acts weird due to hardware connection issues then there's not a lot you can do about it. Might sound odd, but try jiggling your phone a bit.

In any case, you can also try and see if a 3rd party camera application works, such as "Camera ZOOM FX", or something similar. If it does and you can use the front-facing sensor via a 3rd party camera app, then I assume the problem comes from a weird software glitch in the stock OS.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 is expected to land on the Evo 4G LTE later this month. Perhaps that might fix the issue too, if it's not too late.
