Transferring Contacts Using iTunes:

iTunes is a great application that can be used for syncing purposes. In other words, using a computer with iTunes installed, you can transfer contacts from your iPhone over to your HTC Desire 310, by first syncing them with your Google account. To do so:

  1. Open iTunes on your computer
  2. Use the proprietary USB cable to connect your iPhone to your PC
  3. After it connects, the smartphone will pop-up in iTunes. Click it to access the summary page
  4. Access the "Info" tab
  5. Mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box, and from the drop-down menu, select "Google Contacts"
  6. Enter your Google account's log in details. If you've already registered a Google account in iTunes, you can click "Configure" and select it from the list
  7. Click "Apply" to begin the syncing process
  8. Once done, register the same Google account as the one used in iTunes, on the HTC Desire 310
  9. Allow the Google account to sync contacts with your HTC smartphone

Transferring Contacts using iCloud:

As long as you've used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone, your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. By accessing it using your computer's Internet browser, you can export the contacts in the form of a vCard file which can then be easily imported on your HTC Desire 310. To do so:

  1. Open the Internet browser on your computer and visit https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account and go to the "Contacts" section
  3. Select the contacts that you want to share
  4. Click the icon shaped like a cog wheel, located in the lower-left side of the screen
  5. Select "Export vCard" and your computer will download the VCF file containing your contacts
  6. Once downloaded, import the file to "Google Contacts". Alternatively:
  7. Connect your HTC Desire 310 to your computer via USB and copy the VCF file to the phone's "sdcard" directory. Next, launch the "People" app, tap the "Menu" icon > "Import / Export" and select to import contacts from the SD card. If necessary, select an account, and choose the vCard file to load

Using "My Contacts Backup" to Transfer Contacts:

"My Contacts Backup" is an iOS application that allows you to transfer your iPhone contacts without accessing a computer. The application is capable of backing up all of your contacts stored on the iPhone, and share them with an Android smartphone via email. To perform this method:

  1. Visit the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on your iPhone
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
  3. Once the backup file is created, tap "Email". This will create a new email containing the VCF file as an attachment
  4. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  5. On the HTC Desire 310, open the email and download the vCard file attachment
  6. Use the "People" application and the "Import / Export" function in order to import the VCF file's contents to your phonebook

Transferring Contacts via "Send Anywhere":

"Send Anywhere" is another third party application (for iOS and Android) which can be used for transferring contacts from an iPhone to the Desire 310 without needing access to a computer. The application uses a P2P connection to transfer contacts between smartphones. To perform this method:

  1. Go to the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on the HTC Desire 310
  2. From the App Store, install the same app on your iPhone
  3. Launch the application on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  5. Select the contacts that you want to share with the Desire 310
  6. When ready, tap "Send"
  7. Lastly, choose the preferred method of transfer. By tapping "Receive" on the HTC smartphone, you can type in the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone. Alternatively, you can tap "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone, and scan the generated code with the Desire 310's camera in order to commence the transfer
