Using a Google Account:

You can use your Google account in order to transfer the contacts stored on the HTC One SV to the Desire 516, by first syncing the contacts with your Google account, and then re-syncing the data from the account with the Desire 516.

  1. Sign in with your Google account on the HTC One SV
  2. From the home screen, swipe the "Status" bar using two fingers
  3. Tap "Settings" and scroll to "Personal"
  4. Tap "Accounts & Sync"
  5. Tap "Google" and select an account
  6. Press "Menu" and tap "Sync all". Alternatively, to sync only the contacts, clear and mark the "Contacts" check box
  7. Switch to the HTC Desire 516 and sign in with the same account
  8. Open the apps drawer and tap "Settings"
  9. Go to "Accounts & Sync" and set the account so that it can sync data with your device

Using the "People" app and "Import / Export":

You can use the "People" application in order to export the contacts from the HTC One SV in the form of a VCF file. The file can then be transferred over to the Desire 516 via email or through a computer.

  1. Launch the "People" application on the One SV
  2. Access the "People" tab
  3. Press "Menu" > "Manage contacts"
  4. Tap "Import / Export contacts" > "export to phone storage"
  5. Select an account and make sure you'll recall the backup file name's before tapping "OK"
  6. Open the email app and start composing a new email
  7. Attach the vCard file to the email, and send it to your own Gmail address
  8. On the HTC Desire 516, open the email and download the VCF file
  9. Launch the "People" app and press "Menu" > "Import / Export contacts"
  10. Tap "Import from phone storage" / "SD card" and select an account
  11. Select the VCF file to import its contents to the phonebook

NOTE: after the VCF file has been created on the HTC One SV, you can easily transfer it to the HTC Desire 516 by connecting both smartphones to a computer via USB, and manually copying > pasting the file in the Desire's "sdcard" directory. Then, open the "People" app and import the file as explained above

Using "Send Anywhere" to Transfer Contacts:

Finally, you can use "Send Anywhere" to transfer the contacts from your One SV. Send Anywhere is a third party app that can transfer various types of files and contacts from one phone to another via a P2P connection. Access to a computer is not required.

  1. From the Google Play Store, install "Send Anywhere" on both devices
  2. Launch the application on both smartphones
  3. On the HTC One SV, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  4. Select the contacts that you want to transfer and tap "Send"
  5. Select the desired transfer method. You can tap "Generate QR Code" on the HTC One SV and scan the QR code with the Desire 516's camera to commence the transfer. Alternatively, yap "Receive" on the Desire, and enter the transfer code from the One SV
