Install HTC Sync Manager on your PC:

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit HTC Sync Manager Overview | HTC United States
  3. Download the HTC Sync Manager installer
  4. Open the installer and follow the instructions to install the software on your PC
  5. Once HSM is installed, use the USB cable to connect your Desire 826 to the computer
  6. After it connects, the Desire 926 will appear in HSM

Transfer Data from an iPhone via HSM and iTunes:

NOTE: In order to perform the following steps you need to have both iTunes and HSM installed on your PC.

  1. Connect both the iPhone and the Desire 826 to your computer via USB
  2. Launch HSM in case it doesn't start automatically
  3. Click "Home" in HSM and then "Transfer & Backup" > "Get Started"
  4. Open iTunes on the computer and use the software to back up the data stored on your iPhone
  5. In HSM, click "Next" and load the iPhone backup file created in iTunes
  6. Click "OK" and select the content you want to transfer to the Desire 826
  7. Click "Start" and wait for the process to complete

Copy or Remove Media Files via HSM:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Desire 826 and computer via USB
  2. Open HTC Sync Manager and select the items you want to copy or remove
  3. Click the "+" button to copy the selected item to the phone storage
  4. Click the "-" button to remove an item instead

Import Documents using HSM:

  1. Connect the HTC Desire 826 to the computer via USB
  2. In HSM, click "Home" to switch between the phone's external / internal memory
  3. Click "Sync Settings" > "Files" > "Sync Settings"
  4. Click "Sync documents from the following location on this computer"
  5. Click "Add" and select the items you want to import, then click "Refresh"

NOTE: if you want to set HSM to automatically sync data when you connect your smartphone to the computer, click "Home" > "Sync Settings" > "Sync automatically whenever the phone connects"

Export Media Files to a PC via HSM:

  1. Connect your phone to the computer via USB
  2. Launch HTC Sync Manager
  3. Click "Home" > "Sync Settings" and select between the phone's internal or external memory
  4. If you want to export audio files, click "Music" > "Settings" > "Copy all music from phone"
  5. To export videos and photos, click "Gallery" > "Settings" > "Automatically import photos and videos from phone"
  6. Click "Refresh"

Sync Data and Playlists using HSM

NOTE: Using HSM you can sync bookmarks, calendar events and other types of data between your computer and smartphone.

Using a Windows PC, HTC Sync Manager can sync data from Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Outlook 2003 or newer. On a Mac, HSM can sync data from Apple Calendar, Address Book, Outlook 2011 for Mac, Contacts, Safari, Google Chrome and Apple iCal.

Sync Data from a PC:

  1. Connect the HTC Desire 826 to your computer via USB
  2. Launch HTC Sync Manager if necessary and click "Home" > "Sync Settings"
  3. Mark the check boxes next to the items you want to sync
  4. Click "Settings" if you want to change the sync settings
  5. To start the syncing process, click "Refresh"

Sync Playlists from iTunes and Windows Media Player:

  1. Connect your smartphone to the computer via USB
  2. Launch HSM and click "Home" > "Sync Settings"
  3. Select the location where you want to sync data
  4. Click "Music" > "Settings" > "Sync selected playlists"
  5. Select the playlist you want to sync and click "Refresh"
