WARNING! Master resetting your phone will remove all personal data stored on the internal memory, and all settings will be restored to factory values.
NOTE: You can visit this thread to learn how you can back up and restore data on the HTC Desire 326G before proceeding. Always make sure your data is backed up before a reset.
Master Reset via Settings:
- Open the apps drawer and access Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Optionally, enable or disable Automatic restore and Backup my data
- Tap Reset phone and if necessary, enter your lock screen password / PIN to proceed
- Optionally enable Erase SD Card. WARNING! This will remove all data stored on the SD card
- At the Warning pop-up, tap OK and wait for the handset to reset
Master Reset via Recovery (Hardware Buttons):
NOTE: Assuming your phone prevents you from resetting it via settings, you can try a factory reset from recovery instead. The recovery menu can be accessed after performing a combination of button presses, as follows:
- Turn off the device
- Press and hold Volume Down
- Press and release Power while the volume key is pressed
- Once the phone shows a black screen with red and blue lines of text, release the hardware keys
- Press Volume Down to navigate the menu and highlight reboot to bootloader
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- From the bootloader menu, highlight Boot to Recovery Mode using the volume rocker
- Press Power
- Once you see an exclamation mark in a red triangle, press and hold Power, then press and release Volume Up
- From the recovery menu, use the volume buttons to navigate to and highlight Wipe data / factory reset
- Press Power
- Highlight yes delete all user data and press Power
- When prompted with Reboot system now, press Power
Check for Software Updates:
NOTE: After a fresh master reset you should check for new software updates. To do so:
- Go to Settings
- Swipe down to Phone and tap About
- Tap Software information
- Press Check now and in case an update is available, follow the on-screen instructions to download and apply it

Try turning off the phone, pressing & holding "Power" + "Volume down" and release the buttons when you see 3 Androids. If successful, you should see the "HBOOT" menu. From there use "Volume down" to navigate to and highlight "Factory Reset" and press "Power" to confirm.
