Back Up Phone Data to Google Drive:
- Swipe the Status bar down while on the home screen
- Access Settings
- Tap Backup & reset > Backup account
- Tap HTC Account and sign in with your account
- In the Cloud Storage screen, tap Google Drive > OK
- Sign in with your Google account to gain access to Google Drive
- Optionally, enable Automatic backup. Tap Back up now to manually back up data
NOTE: To set your phone to create daily backups over Wi-Fi, go to Settings and tap Back up phone daily over Wi-Fi.
Restore Data from Google Drive:
- Sign in with your backup account (or after a master reset, tap Restore from HTC Backup)
- Access the history screen and select the backup you want to restore
- Tap Next and at the prompt, and if necessary sign in with your Google account
- Allow HTC Backup to connect to Google Drive
- Tap Next to restore the files backed up on Drive
Back Up and Restore Data Locally
Back Up Contacts:
- Tap Phone on the home screen
- Go to the People tab
- Press Menu > Manage contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts > Export to SD card
- Tap Export to SD card or Export to phone storage
- Choose an account to use for the backup
- Tap Yes if you want to set a backup password
- Tap OK
Restore Contacts:
- Open People
- Press Menu > Manage Contacts
- Tap Import / Export contacts > Import contacts from phone storage / [ ] SD card
- If necessary, select an account
- Select the desired backup file and tap OK
- Assuming the file is password-protected, enter the password and tap OK
Back Up Messages:
- Open Messages
- Tap Menu > Backup / Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS
- Optionally, set a password for the backup file
- Enter a name for the backup file and tap OK
Back Up Text Messages via Email:
- Launch Messages
- Tap Menu > Back up / Restore SMS
- Tap Back up > Back up SMS via email
- If desired you can set a password for the backup file
- Ensure that the email contains the attached backup file
- Lastly, send the email to your own email address
NOTE: You can restore messages backed up this way by opening the email, downloading the attached backup file, and importing its contents using the Messages application
Back Up / Restore Tasks:
- Launch Tasks
- Press Menu
- Tap Import / Export
- Tap Export to SD card
- To restore tasks, first launch Tasks
- Press Menu > Import / Export
- Tap Import from SD card
- Select the backup file and follow the on-screen prompts
Back Up Your Dictionary:
- Access Settings
- Tap Language & Keyboard
- Tap HTC Sense Input > Personal dictionary
- Press Menu
- Tap Back up to storage
- Tap Back up to email > OK
Restore a Dictionary:
- Open Settings and tap Languages & keyboard
- Tap HTC Sense Input
- Tap Personal dictionary
- Press Menu" and tap Restore from storage
- Tap OK
