Via iTunes:

NOTE: If you have iTunes installed on your computer with Internet access, you can use the app to sync the iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then you can sync the account data with the HTC Desire 520.

  1. Open iTunes on the computer
  2. Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and PC
  3. In iTunes, click the iPhone to view the summary page
  4. Access the “Info” tab and enable “Sync Contacts With
  5. From the drop-down menu, select “Google Contacts
  6. Sign in with your Google account, or click “Configure” and select an existing account if available
  7. Click “Apply” and the sync will begin
  8. Once done, switch to the Desire 520 and register the same Google account. Make sure to allow the account to sync contacts with your device

Via iCloud:

NOTE: If you’ve used the iCloud service on your iPhone before, the contacts stored on your iPhone should also be backed up on your iCloud account. By accessing your account on a computer connected to the Internet, you can export the contacts for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Go to “Contacts” and select the ones you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard
  6. After the file is downloaded on the computer, import it to “Google Contacts” or skip this step and instead:
  7. Connect the Desire 520 to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard file to the phone storage, and import the file’s contents using the “Contacts” application

Via “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: MY Contacts Backup is a third party app for iOS, which can be used to transfer contacts from your iPhone without needing a computer.

  1. Go to the App Store on the iPhone and install “My Contacts Backup
  2. Launch the app
  3. Tap “Backup” and once the backup file is created, tap “Email
  4. Compose a new email containing the vCard file
  5. Send the email to your own address
  6. Switch to the Desire 520 and open the email
  7. Download the attached vCard file, and import it via “Contacts

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use for contact transfer without needing a computer is “Send Anywhere”. It uses a P2P connection to transfer contacts and other file types, and can do so even cross-platform.

  1. Go to the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Install the same app on the Desire 520 via the Google Play Store
  3. Launch the application on both devices
  4. Tap “Send” on the iPhone
  5. Select “Contacts” and choose the contacts you want to send
  6. Tap “Send” and select a transfer method. You can tap “Generate QR Code” and scan the code with the Desire 520’s camera, or you can switch to the Desire 520, tap “Receive”, and enter the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone to begin the process
