Using iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account. Then, you can sync the account data, including contacts, with your HTC device.

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer
  3. In iTunes, click the iPhone to access its summary page
  4. Click the “Info” tab and turn on “Sync Contacts with”
  5. From the drop-down menu, select “Google Contacts”
  6. Register your Google account, or alternatively click “Configure” and select an existing account
  7. Click “Apply” and wait for the sync to complete
  8. After the sync is done, switch to the Butterfly 3, sign in with the same Google account, and set it to sync contacts with your device

Using iCloud:

NOTE: In case you have used the iCloud backup service on your iPhone before, your iPhone contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. Using a computer connected to the Internet, you can access the account and export the contacts for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
  3. In iCloud, access “Contacts” and select the contacts you wish to share
  4. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  5. After the vCard is downloaded on the computer, import it to “Google Contacts”
  6. Alternatively, skip the step above and instead, connect the Butterfly 3 to your PC via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and import it using the “People” app

Using “My Contacts Backup”:

NOTE: Although a computer connected to the Internet is required for the two methods above, alternatively you can also transfer your iPhone contacts without one, by using third party apps instead. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and transfer contacts via email.

  1. Open the App Store and install “My Contacts Backup” on the iPhone
  2. Launch the application and tap “Backup”
  3. Wait for the backup file to be created, and then tap “Email”
  4. Write a new email and make sure the vCard backup file is attached to it
  5. Send the email to your own Gmail address
  6. On the HTC Butterfly 3, open the email and download the vCard attachment
  7. Import the file using “People”

Using “Send Anywhere”:

NOTE: Last but not least, you can also use Send Anywhere (third party app for iOS and Android) to transfer your contacts cross-platform without requiring a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install “Send Anywhere” on the iPhone
  2. Go to the Google Play Store and install the app on the HTC device
  3. Open the app on both smartphones
  4. Tap “Send” on the iPhone
  5. Tap “Contacts” and select the contacts you want to share
  6. Tap “Send” and choose a transfer method. You can tap “Receive” on the HTC device, or “Generate QR Code” on the iPhone
