Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC Desire 530 to your computer via USB
- Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen
- Ensure the phone is connected as a “Media device (MTP)” or “disk drive”
- On the computer, open the File Explorer and locate the desired audio files on the PC storage
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the “Notifications” and “Ringtones” folders under “Media”
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB
Assign a Custom Ringtone:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Personalize” and access “Ringtone”
- Select the ringtone you want to use
- Tap “Apply” to save the changes
Set a Custom Ringtone for a Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be set to contacts stored on the SIM card or the device’s internal memory.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch “People”
- Select the contact you want to edit
- Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
- Tap “Apply” to confirm
Change the Notification Alert Sound:
- Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
- Scroll to and tap “Sound & notifications”
- Tap “Notification sound” and select the notification alert you want to set
- Tap “Apply” to confirm
