Turn On Power Saver Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Power > Power saver
- Check the boxes associated with the power saver features you want to be enabled during Power Saving mode
- Tap the Power saver switch to enable the feature
Disable Connectivity When Unused:
NOTE: By disabling Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Hotspot when not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:
- Open the phones Settings menu
- Tap the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi switches to turn off these features
- Tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mobile network sharing
- Disable Mobile hotspot
- Return to Settings and scroll to personal
- Tap Location > Mode and select Battery saving
Use 2G Connectivity:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you dont have quick ways of recharging it, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by switching to 2G connectivity. To do this:
- Go to Settings
- Tap Mobile data > Network mode
- Select GSM only
Decrease Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Display & Gestures
- Tap Brightness level
- If necessary, disable Automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left side of the screen
- Return to Display & Gestures
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower value, such as 15 seconds
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party applications can affect battery performance even when not in use, due to the fact that certain apps perform regular background processes. By disabling or uninstalling unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Phone and tap Apps
- Access the Downloaded tab and select the desired app
- Tap Disable to turn the app Off
- Alternatively, tap Uninstall > OK to remove the app
Change Sync Settings and Disable Background Data:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your applications and / or accounts to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the phones Settings menu
- Scroll to, and tap Accounts & Sync
- Tap an application to disable background sync
- For additional sync options, select an account type and an account
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: Certain software updates can include battery life improvements. As such, its recommended to keep the phones OS updated at all times. To check for updates:
- Open the Settings menu
- Scroll to Phone and tap About
- Tap Software information
- Tap Check now. If a new software update is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and apply it
