Back Up App Data:
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account”
- Select an account or tap “Google account” > “Add account”, and sign in with the Google account you want to use for the backup
- Turn on “Back up my data” and “Backup account”
Back Up Contacts Using an HTC or Google Account:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Backup account”
- Select “Google Account” or “HTC Account”
- To allow your device to perform automatic daily backups over Wi-Fi, turn on “Automatic backup”
- To back up your contacts manually, tap “Back up now”
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the HTC 10 Lifestyle to your computer via USB
- When prompted, enable “Media device (MPT)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, or enable the option from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Use the Explorer to locate the media files on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Back Up Media Files on a Mac:
- Connect the HTC 10 Lifestyle to your Mac via USB
- Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac
- Locate and copy the media files on your phone
- Paste the files in the desired backup location on the Mac storage
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage by dragging the virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can”
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
