NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files on the HTC 10 Lifestyle.
Restore App Data:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tap “Apps” on the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup and reset”
- Tap “Restore from HTC Backup”
- Follow the on-screen steps to select a backup account and complete the restore
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Go to “Settings”
- Tap “Accounts & Sync” under “Personal”
- Sign in with the Google account used for the initial backup
- Go to the sync settings of your account and ensure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync all”
Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the HTC 10 Lifestyle to your computer via USB
- When prompted, enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)”, otherwise turn the option On from the “notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the PC
- Locate the media file backups and copy them
- Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder they originate from
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:
- Connect the HTC 10 Lifestyle to the Mac via USB
- Turn on “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt, or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Finder on the Mac
- Locate the media file backups on the Mac and copy them
- Paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
- After the transfer is complete, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the “Trash can”
- Safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
